baby, toddler, and children portraits?
how much do you spend on portraits? where do you have them done? and for what occasions?
i pay a lot of money for my daughters pictures, i usually have them done at the mall. but after this last photography session i dont think we’ll be going back there. i decided to buy a professional studio backdrop and lighting kit for my brother, who is in college and has studied photography for 3 years, i would have had him do her portraits earlier but he never had the money to open a studio. he has a really expensive camera already. so i told him to open a portable portrait studio to make some extra money and so i could have her pics taken whenever i need to.
what would you consider a reasonable price for an in home professional photography session? and what would make you want to use a photographer instead of the 1 hour photo at the mall?
Well, most photogs in my area charge a session fee of anywhere from $30 to $80 for 1 to 2 hours of their time. They then sell packages like 1 8×10, 2 5x7s, 4 3×5, etc for $25 to $40. The props at the mall studios (like Sears) always look like they have never been washed, the photogs are usually poorly trained, and the packages are super expensive.
